Subtitle: When you see the white at the end of the funnel,
pray it's only milk pouring out on your head.

(Don't ask me how long it took to come up with that one. *grin*)

Today's Basic Diary

Tilers got here and did their job, which was to cut the remaining tiles and stick them to the floor, which took them nine solid hours of hard work. :D

Tomorrow they will put down the grout.

Rather than inconvenience us more, their plan all along was to use quick-set mud under the refrigerator and stove. The tile is in place under both appliances. So, that was one thing I didn't need to worry about.

The builder sent their landscaper out to plant yet another plant in this one spot in the front yard. So many plants have died in that spot that we've lost count. We are required by the Homeowners' Association to have X number of plants or we are fined $20 per day. The lifespan of a plant in this one location is a week or so. I expect this one to be dead by Sunday. They were supposed to come out and actually put some good soil down in case what is there is somehow contaminated. We have already paid the Water Softener people to dig up their pipes to make sure no salt water is leaking onto the plant. Their pipes have no leaks.

Tile laid, but ungrouted. The grout will lighten it a bit. The grout is light and pulls out the lighter colors in the tile.

Plant activity. It's good enough to not cause major anxiety in Monkette here. (Yes, I had them use a tape measure, which I cheerfully provided.)

yet more centered plants
Monkette is now happy with the centered plants
Veggie garden has good soil and steer manure. Looks like a minor flood around it, which wouldn't be totally awful were it not next to the housepad.
